A portrait of a team of young girls in Philadelphia, as they claim their place in the sport of lacrosse. Eyekonz Sports is a lacrosse and field hockey league, founded to serve girls around Philadelphia and get more women of color playing a mostly white sport.

As of 2019, female athletes of color represented only 16 percent of all Division I lacrosse players. Two percent were Black. Eyekonz players are working to change that. They set the bar high, and then push one another to clear it.
